Transform your research
The NSW Organoid Innovation Centre (NSWOIC) is a multi-institutional initiative to make organoid production and analysis accessible to researchers across NSW and Australia. Combining cutting edge stem cell techniques with robotics and AI technology, our suite of facilities provides organoids for applications including drug discovery, personalised medicine and disease modelling.
enabling technologies

Organoids are 3D structures of multiple cell types derived from stem cells or patient samples. Unlike traditional 2D cell culture models, organoids can replicate much of the complex structural and functional characteristics of the parent organ, including cell-cell interactions and heterogeneity. This provides a more accurate and reproducible model for disease modelling and drug screening, that can complement or even eliminate the need for animal models. For this reason, the FDA has recently authorised the use of organoids or organ-on-a-chip models as an alternative to animal testing in the drug development process.
Integrated capabilities for streamlined organoid culture
Whether your interest is in developing a new therapeutic, understanding developmental biology or investigating precision treatment approaches, find out how our capabilities can accelerate your research.
Our facilities integrate advanced biomanufacturing with robotics and artificial intelligence to make organoid culture accessible and reproducible. Through our suite of automated platforms, a range of pluripotent stem cell (PSC) and patient derived organoids can be produced at scale for downstream analysis and testing.
our capabilities

Organoid Culture
We culture organoids for research applications including: cerebral, branching lung and intestinal organoids.

Functional Analysis
We perform high-throughput microelectrode array studies to analyse brain organoid neuronal activity.

Drug Screening
Our automated drug screening facility allows high-throughput screening of FDA-approved, novel compound libraries and drug combinations.
